ATTENDING WMD TRAINING COURSES AT THE
CENTER FOR DOMESTIC PREPAREDNESS

VIRGINIA APPLICATION PROCESS
  

FIRST – Visit the CDP web site to register for a Student ID # 

THERE ARE NOW TWO APPROVED METHODS TO REGISTER FOR COURSES AT THE CDP:

1) You may register on-line on the CDPs Training Registration System
This web page will give you instructions on using their on-line system and VDEM will be notified once your completed application is submitted. Please be sure you have listed the appropriate “Supervisor” from your agency that is authorized to approve your attendance of this training.

2)   Complete application fully – It MUST INCLUDE an email address for notification of course acceptance by the CDP and at least two preferred dates for attendance. 
 
3)   Most of these programs require that BOTH the basic application plus the separate Medical Screening form be submitted. The Medical Screening form must be signed by the student and verified by an agency supervisor. (Although not part of the application process, you should make sure your agency is willing to sponsor your attendance and/or allow attendance on an official work basis.) 
 
4)   If the course is a Train-the-Trainer program you must submit proof of certification as a qualified public safety instructor. Include a copy of your public safety instructor credentials (VDFP, DCJS, VDH/OEMS , etc.) to qualify for the Train-the-Trainer.

6)   Your application will be reviewed and forwarded to the CDP if you meet the course selection criteria. (You will be contacted if any problem or omission for your application.)
 
7)   Be Patient – Scheduling of courses may have a 3-4 month waiting list.
