Enrollment FAQ (for EM classes only)

VDEM Learning Management System (Knowledge Center) Site FAQs

VDEM’s online Learning Management System, called the Knowledge Center, allows centralized course scheduling, student enrollment, record keeping and many other functions.  More than 140 state agencies now have their own individual Knowledge Center domains, linked together to allow course and information sharing.  All VDEM Office of Training and Exercises course enrollments are conducted via the Knowledge Center.

How do I know if my agency has a Knowledge Center domain?
If you are not certain whether your agency has its own Knowledge Center domain, click here to search.

My agency has a Knowledge Center domain, and I have an account.  Now what?
For students who have a Knowledge Center account through ANY state agency, use your existing account to enroll in VDEM courses.  Click here for instructions to enroll in VDEM courses.

I don’t have a Knowledge Center account with any domain.  What do I do?
Your enrollment process will consist of two parts.  First, you must register for a Knowledge Center account.  Then you will enroll in the course.  Click here for instructions to register for an account and enroll in VDEM courses.

I’m not sure if I have a Knowledge Center account with any domain.  Should I just register again?
Please do not register for more than one account as this will delay enrollment in your desired course and could result in multiple and incomplete transcripts.  Contact the VDEM Help Desk and we will help you determine whether you have an account:  (804) 897-9995.

I’ve taken a course with VDEM, and I need to print my certificate.  How do I do that?
Students will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to access their completion certificates generally two-three working days after the course ends.
