2017 Fall Forum (Roanoke)

The 2017 Emergency Management Fall Forum is an opportunity for state and local emergency managers to come together to hear updates on policies and procedures, share lessons-learned over the year, and learn about new tools and technologies.  Sponsored by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) and the Virginia Emergency Management Association (VEMA), this professional development program gives attendees an opportunity to provide feedback and input on Virginia’s emergency management strategic direction, programs, and initiatives.

The 2017 Fall Forum theme is “Recovery 2.0: Instituting Technology.” Forum Topics include:

  • sUAS in Recovery
  • Recent Flooding and National Weather Service Technology
  • FirstNet Update
  • Situational Awareness
  • Resilience and Recovery
  • Public Assistance (PA) and Mitigation
  • Disaster Response Teams

Attendance at either the Fall Forum or VEMA’s annual spring symposium is a requirement for jurisdictions receiving EMPG funding, though jurisdictions may elect to attend both.
