This course is designed to equip Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPC) and Tribal Emergency PlanningCommittees (TEPC) with the knowledge, tools and best practices needed to establish an engaging and productive team among the whole community of stakeholders to reduce hazardous material risks. The course details responsibilities and interests of key stakeholders and collectively preparing for how hazardous material incidents impact them and the community. This course will facilitate collaboration and strengthen the whole community engagement by providing tools, resources and direction through thefollowing core capabilities: Planning, Operational Coordination, Operational Communications, and Community Resiliency. Students will develop goals, performance indicators and plans during practical exercises to assist the LEPC/TEPC with reducing risk from fixed and mobile hazardous materials.
