We have received several inquiries about the request for volunteers to search for Hannah Graham. Many thanks to those who have registered. Below are answers to the questions we have received.
Q: If I registered online, do I need to attend the briefing at John Paul Jones Arena tonight at 7 p.m. or can I show up Saturday morning?
A: Anyone who wishes to be part of the weekend search must attend this briefing. Participants will receive a wristband at the briefing that will tell us they are part of the search. They will also receive instructions about where and when to report for the weekend searches. As you can imagine, with hundreds of volunteers expected, we need to know ahead of time how many to plan for when we map out their search routes. We cannot guarantee that registered (and non-registered) volunteers who show up over the weekend without a wristband will be part of the organized search.
Q: I have experience with search & rescue. Where do I indicate that on the registration?
A: When you arrive at the briefing tonight, indicate to the search coordinators that you have experience.
Q: How long will the registration period be open?
A: Registrations will be open at http://helpfindhannah.brmrg.org/ until 5 p.m. If you are unable to register online by 5 p.m., you can come to the briefing tonight and register prior to 7 p.m.
Q: Will there be more than one briefing for volunteers?
A: No, the only briefing will be at 7 p.m. tonight.
Be ready. Be willing to help.
