Patrick Patrong is the Division Director for Training, Education and Exercise at VDEM. Prior to joining VDEM, Patrick served as the Lead Facilitator for Patrong Enterprises, Incorporated, an organization and employee development consulting firm in Baltimore, Maryland.
As the former Director of the Organization and Employee Development Division for the University of Maryland, Baltimore, Patrick led professional development initiatives for seven professional schools. He previously served as the Director of Workforce Planning and Development for the Virginia Department of Social Services Administration, where he directed the Leadership academy, succession planning and other initiatives.
Patrick also served as the Division Chief of Training and Employee Development for the City of Richmond, Virginia, and Baltimore City in Maryland. Patrick was an adjunct professor at the University of Phoenix’s Richmond campus. Patrick is an active member of the Association of Talent Development and the Project Management Institute.
Originally from the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Patrick played on the national basketball team and served on the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service’s Special Auxiliary Squad. In 1985, Patrick accepted a basketball scholarship to attend Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana where he earned as Bachelor of Science in Degree in Design Engineering. Later, Patrick earned a Master of City and Regional Planning from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, and a Master of Divinity form Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia.
As a photography enthusiast, magician, and clergy, Patrick spends his limited free time volunteering with churches and youth service organizations guiding youth in the transition from youth to adulthood.
