This 2-day course is designed to equip emergency management staff and voluntary agency personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform as effective Mass Care Coordinators in a broad range of disaster situations. The focus is to enable communities to plan for and manage mass care, leading to increased mass care flexibility at the community level; to greater quality and quantity of local assistance available to professional care organizations such as the Red Cross; and to increased community self-sufficiency. The course is intended for State, tribal and local government emergency management and voluntary agency personnel who provide mass care assistance.

Virginia Disaster Relief Fund
How is the money distributed?
Fund proceeds will be distributed to local long-term recovery groups, members of the Virginia Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster and other non-profit and faith-based organizations as a grant.
Many of these groups work directly with individuals and families following a disaster.
How else can I donate?
The Virginia Disaster Relief Fund benefits projects that include: repair or rebuilding of underinsured dwellings, transportation assistance, replacing essential household items, helping renters establish new rental residence, temporary living expenses while recovering from loss, and more.
