CommonHealth and the Employee Assistance Program for State and Local Government

Description: Craig Hicken, Regional CommonHealth Coordinator will provide an overview of CommonHealth. This employee program promotes wellness in the workplace. Yearly programs cover a variety of health and wellness subjects and are presented in a variety of formats, including onsite programs and video presentations that make it easy to participate. Topics covered will include weekly well notes and newsletter, contact information for state and regional coordinators and program topics.

Lynn Vogel, Account Management Executive for Anthem’s EAP and Behavioral Health Services will provide an overview of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). EAP is a work-based intervention program designed to identify and assist employees in resolving personal problems. Attend this 30 minute session to learn more about free benefits available through Anthem’s Employee Assistance Program – offered in conjunction with COVACare and COVA HDHP health plans (for state employees) and The Local Choice (health plans through Anthem for local governments and schools). EAP’s services can help you and members in your household with counseling sessions, legal services, financial counseling, identity monitoring, child/elder care and work/life referral services.
