Text to 9-1-1 Deployment Strategies

Overview: This webinar session will provide the attendee with an overview of what to expect when moving forward with text to 9-1-1 deployment. It will be broken into three sections presented by people who have gone through the process. To kick-off the webinar will be Jerry Smith, Southampton County, who deployed a Web browser solution almost a year ago. Mr. Smith will present from a Public Safety Access Point (PSAP) manager’s perspective. Second, Nicole Leonard, Intrado’s Senior Product Manager for TXT2911 services, will provide the Text Control Center’s (TCC) perspective on what each PSAP manager needs to know about deployment. Finally, Steve McMurrer, Fairfax County, will present on “Marketing/Communications Plan for Text-to-9-1-1 Rollout.” Fairfax created a comprehensive plan for education and outreach that can be used as a model for other localities. There will be time allotted to ask the presenters questions about their experiences. This is a great opportunity to learn from those who have been through text to 9-1-1 deployments.
