Requests for Public Assistance
Applicants have until April 10th, 2022 to submit an official Request for Public Assistance (RPA) in the FEMA Grants Portal to be considered for the program. Submitting an RPA is a requirement for potential federal assistance. Three Applicant briefings are scheduled to cover requirements for the RPA.
The Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) announces the availability of Public Assistance grant funding for reimbursement of eligible disaster costs at a 75% federal cost share. VDEM will be hosting three applicant briefings to go over the program requirements, processes, and timelines. As defined by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), potential applicants in the declared jurisdictions for this event may be eligible for grant consideration under the PA program. This may include local and regional governments, state agencies, certain private non-profits and tribes/tribal governments that have performed eligible emergency work or have sustained uninsured permanent damages as a direct result of this disaster, of which all damages and emergency work must be located within the declared jurisdictions referenced below.
